Job Responsibilities:KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:?Develop and/or maintain accurate inventory costs in accordance with company costing policy and generally accepted accounting principles. This includes: (a) maintaining accurate material costs for inventory items in MAS; (b) identifying inventory overhead cost pools and quantifying inventory overhead application rates and methods; and, (c) completing analyses to identify and properly value excess or obsolete inventory.?Working with the Cost Accounting Manager, assist in:oThe creation and/or maintenance of various systems, processes and procedures to collect and record the costing data required for internal and external reporting;oThe maintenance of: (a) accurate inventory and other balance sheet accounts, charging costs to the general ledger in accordance with the corporate chart of accounts and determining appropriate month-end accruals and adjustments; and, (b) a strong system of internal controls that insure the safeguarding of assets as well as compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.?Facilitate the company?s quarterly physical inventory counts and monitor the company?s on-going cycle counting programs.?Seek continuous process improvements and take responsibility for cost and inventory projects and tasks as needed and assigned.
